Phoenix Community Alliance’s (PCA) 2011 second quarter board of directors meeting not only highlighted an important aspect in business, reform in health care legislation but also a world-class facility, the Executive Conference Center. Many of our members were familiar with the Phoenix Convention Center but many do not realize that within this state-of-the art convention facility is an intimate space specializing in smaller executive meetings providing all the necessary amenities including catering and audio-visual.
Key facts about the Executive Conference Center:
- The Executive Conference Center has 21,000 square feet with 16 meeting rooms and a lecture hall.
- The Conference Center is certified with the IACC or International Association of Conference Centers, a distinction amongst meeting venues.
- Some of the amenities include on-site concierge, leading-edge technology, outside terraces and pre-function areas to help accommodate meetings for up to 300 people.
PCA exposed 90 members and guests to the experience. The lunch started in one meeting room where we conducted a quick business meeting and quickly enjoyed the excellent meal from Aventura catering. Then, we moved the group to the lecture hall for our health care reform panel. The lecture hall can accommodate up to 200 people. The room has a 10,000 lumen projector screen, an audience-response voting system, and four translation booths.
Two PCA committee chairs, Jill Goldsmith, Bowman and Brooke and Robert Atwell, AON Risk Services took a minute to comment on the facility. Mr. Atwell describes the facility as easily “top 1%” of the meeting space in the downtown. And Ms. Goldsmith would recommend the facility for future meetings for PCA and her own local law firm office. You see, one does not have to be from out of town, to enjoy the convention center. If you need space for a local meeting, the Executive Conference Center is designed to provide the most productive experience for you and your guests.
The perception might be that you need to have a large conference of 1,000 plus attendees to use the Phoenix Convention Center. And the Convention Center is designed to handle large attendance, complex events, meetings, and conferences. (The Phoenix Convention Center is looking to have a grand-slam summer with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game right down the street at Chase field.) But for your business whether large or small, do not overlook the Executive Conference Center for your next meeting, negotiation, or training session. Take it from PCA, you will be more than pleased with the experience.
