This past weekend, CityScape hosted Oktoberfest on Friday and Saturday for the benefit of Phoenix Sister Cities. Nestled in the CityScape courtyard was a bustling and lively festival, drifting a mouth-watering aroma of hops and grilling German sausage.
Among the festivities were live music, a German feast, a dance floor, and of course… German beer! Among the several beers on tap was one from the infamous Bavarian Weihenstephan Brewery, the oldest brewing company in the world! (See picture!)
Brewing since 768 AD, they know how to do a Hefeweizen right! Pairing well with a ‘weisswurst’ German hot dog topped with sauerkraut, there was no telling if you were in Germany or still in Phoenix!
The turn out was great, and the atmosphere light-hearted–a great first Oktoberfest for CityScape!
Look out for future CityScape events, including Mayor Phil Gordon’s annual State of Downtown Event on November 4th, Macy Gray performing live November 5th, and Third Eye Blind November 6th, both FREE to the public! For a detailed version of events, click here.
